Kyodo Printing Co., Ltd. revised consolidated earnings guidance for the first half of fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. For the first half, the company now expects net sales of JPY 49,000 million, operating income of JPY 1,200 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 2,300 million and basic net income per share of JPY 83.17 as previously announced forecast of net sales of JPY 49,000 million, operating income of JPY 850 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of JPY 1,700 million and basic net income per share of JPY 61.49. Reasons for the revisions: In terms of net sales, the Living and Industrial Materials segment is seeing growth in toothpaste tubes, as well as film packaging materials and lid materials for instant noodles, while the Information Security segment is also seeing an increase in projects related to government benefit programs. The Information Communication segment, by contrast, is expected to fall short of the initial forecast, owing to declines in magazine circulation and supplement sales in the publishing and printing business, and in sales of point- of-purchase (POP) materials, novelty items, and promotional tools in general commercial printing. Overall, net sales are expected to be broadly in line with the initial forecast. In terms of profits, ongoing efforts to maintain and improve profitability, including the continued pass- through of cost increases to selling prices, proved effective. As a result, operating profit and ordinary profit are both expected to exceed the initial forecast. Profit attributable to owners of parent is also expected to exceed the initial forecast, owing to an increase in gains on the sale of shares associated with stock price fluctuations. Meanwhile, given the remaining uncertainty in the economic outlook, including rising raw material and energy costs driven by the situation in the Middle East, the Company has decided to leave its full-year consolidated financial results forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027 unchanged for the time being. Should the Company determine that a revision is necessary, it will make an announcement promptly.
