Harvia Plc and Toyota Motor Corporation teamed up to produce a concept model for what is believed to be the world's first hydrogen-powered sauna (as of this writing, according to the investigations of Harvia and Toyota). The collaboration represents a step toward a more sustainable future for saunas by combining Harvia's sauna expertise with Toyota's hydrogen combustion technology. The two companies will introduce the hydrogen sauna concept at two upcoming events in Jyvaskyla, Finland. These demonstrations aim to explore new uses for hydrogen and contribute to carbon neutrality. The hydrogen sauna concept will be presented at the "World Sauna Forum" (June 4-5, 2025) and during part of "Rally Finland" (July 31-August 2, 2025) in Jyvaskyl a. By applying hydrogen to sauna heaters, the system generates only steam and warm air, emitting no CO2 during use. This offers an attractive alternative to conventional heating methods. The concept model aims to capture the essence of traditional smoke sauna, known for their gentle and soothing heat. The hydrogen combustion heater channels flames and warm air through sauna stones, heating them evenly from all sides. This process envelops the space in a soft warmth and produces the pleasant steam, or loyly, when water is poured on the stones. Harvia, a global leader in sauna and spa experiences, is committed to advancing well-being through sustainable and innovative solutions. The company integrates environmental responsibility across its operations - from product development and manufacturing to energy efficiency and supply chain management - continuously seeking ways to minimize environmental impact while delivering high-quality wellness experiences worldwide. Toyota views hydrogen as an important fuel in pursuit of carbon neutrality and has been promoting various initiatives in the areas of "Create, Transport, Store, and Use" hydrogen in collaborating with partners across various industries. Moving forward, Toyota will continue to accelerate the efforts to further promote hydrogen utilization towards realizing a hydrogen society.

For 2026, the Toyota sports car lineup is getting brighter with the GR86 Yuzu Edition. This vibrant exterior color is a nod to a memorable special edition of GR86's predecessor, the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0. Based on the GR86 Premium grade, the special edition will feature 18-inch matte-black wheels and other stunning black accents throughout the vehicle. On the inside, the Yuzu edition features a black interior with yellow accents. Customers will find black Ultrasuede®? - trimmed sport seats with yellow perforation and yellow stopping on the steering wheel, parking brake handle, and door trim. Brembo®? Brakes improve stopping power and SACHS Dampers provide additional stability while preserving GR86's trademark playfulness. Customers can customize their vehicle by adding additional accessories like a cat-back exhaust with GR logoed silver-colored tips, and a body kit to the Yuzu edition for even more self-expression. For the 2026 model year, the GR86 will be available in three grades - GR86, GR86 Premium and the GR86 Yuzu edition. All grades will offer a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and will be powered by a 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder boxer engine generating 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft of torque. The GR86 will arrive at Toyota dealerships in the Fall of 2025. There will only be 860 Yuzu editions assembled for the North American market for 2026. Toyota will share Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price and specs for all grades later this year. Each GR vehicle is designed and engineered with a precise attention to detail and unique driving character. The GR86 is a sports car that focuses on performance and balance. Its compact dimensions and responsive chassis make it feel nimble on both tight corners and open roads, delivering an engaging driving experience that emphasizes fun over outright power. Last year, the GAZOO Racing engineering team made updates to tuning, providing an even more enjoyable ride. Some of the updates included revised throttle mapping to increase the ease of "blipping," and additional engine torque control to provide a more direct throttle response and linearity to improve ease of control at all speeds. All of these updates will be carried over to the 2026 models along with the Performance Package available on the GR86 and GR86 Premium grades that include Brembo®? Brake and SACHSDampers. The Performance Package is standard on the GR86 Yuzuedition. The SACHS Dampers are filled with high-pressure nitrogen and oil and are designed toorb vibrations across a wide range of speeds, maximize ground contact, and support firm, stable steering, while also balancing road feedback and ride comfort. The red-painted Brembo 4-piston front and 2-piston rear brake calipers clamp down on smooth surfaced 12.8 x 1.3-in front rotors, with 12.4 x .79-in. rotors in thear. The dampers and brakes complement the GR86's chassis, which is known for its taut, agile feel. Crafted from a combination of high-strength steel, hot-stamped steel, and aluminum, each material in the frame is strategically placed to bring drivers a balance of roll and pitch that helps maximize control. Up front, it uses diagonal cross members and high-strength fasteners to join the front suspension and frame together. At the rear, a fullring structure and high-strength fasteners connect the frame and suspension mounts. For additional reinforcement, structural adhesive has been added throughout the underbody. Altogether these enhancements create a cohesive, connected frame. All GR86 models pack in modern engineering, tech, and convenience - while sticking to its lightweight sports car roots. Weighing from a combination of high- strength, and SACHS Damper's brand brand brand's brand's brand brand's brand's brand's brand is expected to be available in 2026.

Toyota Motor Corporation, Board Meeting, Feb 05, 2025. Agenda: To consider resolution to establish a new wholly-owned company in Jinshan District, in southwest Shanghai to develop and produce battery electric vehicles and batteries.
2025-02-05
At the Board of Directors meeting held on February 5, 2025, Toyota Motor Corporation ("Toyota") has resolved to establish a new wholly-owned company in Jinshan District, in southwest Shanghai to develop and produce battery electric vehicles ("BEVs") and batteries. The reason of establishment of subsidiary: Toyota will sign a comprehensive partnership agreement with the Shanghai municipal government in China regarding carbon neutrality. Under this partnership with the Shanghai municipal government, Toyota hopes to contribute to the Chinese government's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 in fields such as hydrogen energy, automated driving technology, and battery recycling and reuse. To drive the initiative forward, Toyota will establish a new company based on the belief that quicker supply of products that meet customers' needs is important in China where there is a high demand for new energy vehicles. Toyota believes that this investment has little impact on Toyota's business performance. The newly formed company will develop a new BEV under the Lexus brand, with production scheduled to begin from 2027 onwards. The initial production capacity is expected to be around 100,000 units per year, and approximately 1,000 new jobs are planned for the start-up phase.

At CES 2025, Toyota Motor Corporation announced the completion of Phase 1 construction of Toyota Woven City ("Woven City"), its test course for mobility. The launch of Phase 1 is planned for fall 2025 or shortly thereafter. Toyota first announced its transformation into a mobility company at CES 2018 and, at CES 2020, unveiled the Woven City concept being developed in collaboration with Woven by Toyota ("WbyT") to demonstrate Toyota's long-term commitment to shaping the future of mobility. Woven City has made steady progress since its ceremony on February 23, 2021, at the former site of Toyota Motor East Japan's ("TMEJ") Higashi-Fuji Plant in Susono City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Construction of Phase 1 buildings — the initial area for co-creation activities — was completed in October 2024. Preparations for the official launch are now underway. Woven City's Phase 1 has also previously been recognized for its environmentally conscious and human-centric design aimed at enhancing people's overall quality of life. It earned Japan's first LEED for Communities1 Platinum certification, the system's higher rank. Alongside Phase 1 preparations, renovation of a former TMEJ Higashi-Fuji Plant facility into a manufacturing hub for Woven City is underway, and site preparation work for Phase 2 has commenced. Insights from Phase 1 will help refine plans for Phase 2 and future phases, and continually enhance the test course's functionality. Woven City is a test course for mobility where "Inventors" who share a commitment to working "for someone other than themselves" can develop, test, and validate innovative products and services. These inventors include Toyota and Toyota Group companies, such as WbyT, as well as external companies, startups, and individual entrepreneurs. By leveraging Toyota's decades-long manufacturing expertise and WbyT's software capabilities, Woven City offers a unique environment equipped with the tools and services needed to tackle societal challenges and create future-focused value. Through collaboration among inventors and feedback from residents and visitors, Woven City aims to drive innovation and shape a better tomorrow.

Toyota Motor Corporation announced the completion of Joby’s first international exhibition flight which took place at Toyota’s Higashi-Fuji Technical Center in Shizuoka, Japan earlier this week. The flight, completed within sight of Mount Fuji, marked an opportunity to demonstrate the low acoustic footprint of Joby’s emissions-free aircraft and celebrate nearly seven years of collaboration between the two companies, during which time Toyota has supported Joby by providing insights from its extensive automotive manufacturing and technology expertise. Toyota engineers now work side-by-side with the Joby team in California and, in 2023, the two companies signed a long-term agreement for Toyota to supply key powertrain and actuation components for the production of Joby’s aircraft. A wide range of stakeholders gathered at the test facility for an event to celebrate the exhibition flight and historic milestone, including Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, and representatives of Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau. Joby’s electric air taxi is designed to carry a pilot and four passengers at speeds of up to 200 mph, offering high-speed mobility with zero operating emissions and a fraction of the noise produced by helicopters. This new mobility service aims to reduce traffic congestion, minimize environmental impact, and provide transportation solutions for urban and rural regions, demonstrating the potential to address various transportation challenges in Japan and around the world. Joby was founded in 2009 and has since completed thousands of test flights, including exhibition flights from the iconic Downtown Manhattan Heliport in New York City. Today’s news comes weeks after Toyota committed to invest an additional $500 million in Joby, to support the certification and commercial production of the Company’s electric air taxi. The additional funds will bring Toyota Motor Corporation’s total investment in Joby to $894 million and include plans to establish a manufacturing alliance to support the first phase of commercialization. The investment will be made in two equal tranches and is subject to standard regulatory approvals and certain other conditions, finalization of collaborative and commercial agreements and, with respect to the second tranche, the finalization of terms related to a strategic alliance focused on commercial manufacturing and certain other conditions.

Toyota Motor revealed its financial results for the first quarter of 2025 on June 18, 2025, with revenues of 12.36T yen and net income of 664.7B yen, representing a revenue increase of 11.7%, along with a sharp drop of approximately 31.3% in EPS compared with the same quarter last year. A positive note is that for the 13th consecutive quarter, the company's revenue line has increased compared to last year's corresponding quarter, which demonstrates the company's stability and its ability to grow in the future.
In addition, the EBITDA margin rose sharply from 11.3% in the corresponding quarter last year to 13.6%. It often signifies that the company has raised prices or implemented optimization methods in its activity sectors, leading to an increase in EBITDA margins and, as a result, should support the stock's performance in the future. Another figure worth noting is the free cash flow for the quarter, which was 227B yen, an increase of 230.63B yen from the previous year's corresponding period. In response to the improvement in cash flow, the company's management paid a significant sum of 133.28B yen as a repurchase of Common Stock. It is important to note that the stock's dividend yield stands at approximately 3.9%, and it trades at 6.9x times current year's earnings, which is lower than the sector average (P/E 13x).
