Cornelis and NEC Corporation announced an expanded collaboration that builds on the companies' successful work together in Europe and will help organizations across Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region deploy next-generation AI and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure using Cornelis high-performance networking solutions. The expanded collaboration builds on NEC's successful evaluation of the Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path platform and the companies' existing collaboration in Europe, creating a foundation to support enterprise AI, manufacturing, research, and high-performance computing deployments across Japan. As part of the collaboration, NEC also plans to participate in early evaluation activities for the next-generation Cornelis CN6000 platform, helping customers prepare for increasingly complex AI and HPC workloads. The collaboration reflects growing adoption of open, high-performance networking alternatives as AI and HPC deployments continue to scale. Following a comprehensive technical evaluation of the CN5000 platform, NEC and Cornelis will continue collaborating to support customer opportunities by leveraging NEC's long-standing relationships with enterprise, manufacturing, academic, and research organizations throughout Japan. NEC's evaluation included extensive MPI communication testing across multiple workloads and communication patterns, validating the capabilities of the CN5000 platform while also identifying optimization techniques that further improve application performance. The joint evaluation demonstrated the value of close engineering collaboration to help customers maximize networking efficiency across large-scale HPC environments. The companies also plan to extend their collaboration to the upcoming Cornelis CN6000 platform, allowing NEC to evaluate next-generation networking technologies as customers prepare for larger AI training, inference, and HPC deployments. The collaboration further strengthens Cornelis' growing global ecosystem of infrastructure partners, enabling customers to deploy high-performance networking through trusted server and infrastructure providers while benefiting from continued innovation across the Cornelis product portfolio. As AI clusters continue to scale, Cornelis and NEC will continue working together to evaluate new networking technologies, optimize customer deployments, and support future AI and HPC infrastructure across Japan and beyond.

Transgene and NEC Corporation reported sustained 100% three-year disease-free survival (DFS) in patients treated with TG4050 in the Phase 1 part of a randomized Phase 1/2 trial evaluating TG4050, the first individualized neoantigen therapeutic vaccine (INTV) based on the myvac platform, in patients with resected, locally advanced HPV-negative head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). The companies also announced the publication of the Phase 1 comprehensive clinical and translational data from the study, for the first time in the peer-reviewed journal Nature Communications. Three-year follow-up data from the Phase 1 trial continue to demonstrate durable clinical outcomes in the adjuvant setting, with all 16 TG4050-treated patients remaining disease-free while three of 16 patients in the control arm experienced relapse after a median follow-up of 41 months. TG4050, encoding up to 30 patient-specific neoantigens, also continues to demonstrate a favorable safety profile with no unexpected safety findings. The peer-reviewed publication builds on the Phase 1 results first shared with the scientific community through a prepublication on medRxiv and presents comprehensive clinical and translational findings based on the study’s primary data cut-off, including detailed analyses of vaccine-induced immune responses. Together, the clinical and translational findings provide further evidence supporting TG4050 as a potential individualized immunotherapy for patients with head and neck cancer at high risk of relapse following surgery and (chemo)-radiotherapy. The Phase 1 clinical and translational data published in Nature Communications demonstrate robust and persistent neoantigen-specific CD8+ T-cell responses consistent with the proposed vaccine’s mechanism of action. Vaccine-induced responses were detected in 73.3% of patients treated with TG4050, with a median of three responding neoantigens per responder. These responses were maintained throughout treatment and persisted for more than one year after the last vaccination, providing evidence of durable anti-tumor immunity. Robust and persistent CD8+ T-cell responses against patient-specific tumor neoantigens were observed following TG4050 vaccination, supporting the vaccine’s ability to generate a targeted anti-tumor immune response. TG4050 continues to be evaluated in the ongoing randomized Phase 1/2 clinical trial (NCT04183166) in patients with resected HNSCC. Key upcoming milestones include first immunological data and two-year efficacy data (DFS) from the Phase 2 study respectively in H2 2026 and First Quarter 2028. TG4050 is an individualized immunotherapy being developed for solid tumors that is based on Transgene’s myvac technology and powered by NEC’s longstanding artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) expertise. This virus-based individualized neoantigen therapeutic vaccine (INTV) encodes neoantigens (patient-specific mutations) identified and selected by NEC’s Neoantigen Prediction System. The prediction system is based on more than two decades of expertise in AI and has been trained on proprietary data allowing it to accurately prioritize and select the most immunogenic sequences. TG4050 is designed to stimulate the immune system of patients in order to induce a T-cell response that is able to recognize and destroy tumor cells based on their own neoantigens. This individualized immunotherapy is developed and produced for each patient. TG4050 is being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for patients with HPV-negative head and neck cancers (NCT04183166). An individualized treatment is created for each patient after they complete surgery and while they receive adjuvant therapy. Half of the participants received their vaccine immediately after completing adjuvant treatment. The other half were given TG4050 at the time of recurrence of the disease as an additional treatment to the standard of care (SoC). This randomized study is evaluating the treatment benefits of TG4050 in patients who are at risk of relapse. The first efficacy data (2-year disease-free survival – DFS) will become available at the latest by the end of First Quarter 2028.

Intermedia Intelligent Communications announced the general availability of Cloud Calling for UNIVERGE BLUE, a new cloud voice service that directly connects KDDI’s voice with NEC’s UNIVERGE BLUE, powered by Intermedia. This solution enables organizations to use KDDI-provided telephone numbers across multiple locations nationwide in Japan without installing customer-premises voice equipment. Connectivity to Cloud Calling for UNIVERGE BLUE is the result of coordinated work across three organizations: KDDI and NEC define the commercial service offering, while KDDI and Intermedia establish cloud PBX interconnection to KDDI’s voice services. Together, these three companies align on operational and support terms to deliver a seamless customer experience. The integration allows organizations using UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT to activate and manage KDDI-provided telephone numbers directly within Intermedia’s cloud platform through a dedicated peering connection – making nationwide, multi-site deployments far simpler to implement and operate. By providing nationwide carrier connectivity through KDDI, Cloud Calling removes a key constraint that previously limited full-cloud communications deployments across Japan, now making large-scale migration from legacy PBX systems to cloud platforms far more practical. In Japan, Intermedia works with NEC and its partners to deliver UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT. NEC’s installed base includes millions of on-premises PBX seats across Japan, representing one of the largest opportunities for business communications migration to the cloud in the Japanese market. UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT combines business phone, video meetings, messaging, collaboration tools and contact center capabilities with integrated archiving and AI-powered tools that generate conversation transcripts and summaries, surface opportunity insights and provide real-time assistance. Through Cloud Calling with KDDI, organizations can deploy UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT across multiple locations nationwide while using KDDI-provided telephone numbers, supporting full-cloud communications environments that were previously difficult to achieve. Intermedia’s platform also allows organizations to extend these capabilities into Microsoft Teams, giving businesses the ability to add enterprise-grade voice capabilities and compliant archiving directly within the Teams environment while supporting both Microsoft Teams-based calling and UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT deployments powered by Intermedia. Cloud Calling for UNIVERGE BLUE connects the strengths of three organizations: NEC and its partners sell UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT cloud communications licenses powered by Intermedia; KDDI provides telephone numbers and calling services directly to customers; Intermedia activates and manages those numbers within its cloud platform through a dedicated peering connection. This structure allows organizations to deploy cloud communications across multiple locations nationwide while keeping numbering and voice services with a domestic carrier. With nationwide carrier connectivity now available through KDDI, organizations have a clearer path to transition from legacy PBX systems to modern cloud communications platforms while continuing to work with NEC and its partners.

NEC Corporation resolved at the meeting of its Board of Directors held on May 12, 2026, to propose a partial amendment to the Articles of Incorporation at the 188th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on June 19, 2026, as follows. Reason for the amendment: With the enforcement of the "Act for Partially Amending the Act on Strengthening Industrial Competitiveness and Other Related Acts" (Act No. 70 of 2021), listed companies are allowed to hold a general meeting of shareholders without a designated location (a "virtual-only general meeting of shareholders") by stipulating so in their articles of incorporation. In light of the occurrence of large-scale disasters, including infectious diseases and natural disasters, as well as the progress of digitization of society, NEC believes that expanding the options for holding general meetings of shareholders and creating an environment in which more shareholders can easily attend general meetings of shareholders will benefit its shareholders. Therefore, NEC proposes to add Article 12, Paragraph 3, to the current Articles of Incorporation to allow general meetings of shareholders to be held without a designated location. The Board of Directors will carefully consider the social conditions and the circumstances surrounding NEC and its shareholders, as well as securing the rights and interests of shareholders when deciding on the format of each general meeting of shareholders. NEC has received confirmation from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Minister of Justice that the requirements specified by the Ordinance of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ordinance of the Ministry of Justice regarding the amendment are met.
